9-hole Parkland Golf Course

 

Welcome to Wincanton Golf Club, located in the center of the racecourse in the heart of Somerset. A 9-hole doubled-up to 18, par 70, measuring 6,266 yards with a challenging layout for golfers of all abilities.

 

We have well-maintained greens that are playable for golfers all year round. We are set inside Wincanton Racecourse and offer a compact, easily accessible and quick 9 holes open to everybody. Enjoy a limited Pro Shop and a pleasant cafeteria with hot, cold and alcoholic beverages along with some light snacks available to members and non-members alike.

 

Golf lessons are available from our PGA Golf Professional. Membership is available for players wishing to obtain a handicap and play in competitions. Golf societies are welcome and catered for. Green Fees are payable daily to the general public with no need to book, however, it is advisable to phone ahead (01963 435850) of your visit to check on the state of play we also welcome online bookings via our website and social media.

  

We have a PGA Professional and his staff available for any golfing needs. Our professional has over 40 years of experience to help and advise all levels in the game, from complete novice to advanced golfers. We can customise equipment to suit all shapes, sizes, and ages.

 

Please note: Each player is required to use their own bag of clubs. Equipment hire is available. The golf course will not be open on racedays.

Golf Membership 1st April 2024 – 31st March 2025

Wincanton Racecourse is accredited with Safe Golf and is committed to promoting a safe and positive environment for all those participating, working, and volunteering within the sport of golf.

 

  • Full Membership – £495 7-Day membership, this is to include Somerset Golf Union fees and will allow members to play within club competitions
  • 5-Day Membership - £425 – 5-Day membership (Monday-Friday), this is to include Somerset Golf Union fees and will allow members to play within club competitions. Members who wish to play at the weekend can pay the standard Pay and Play Green fee
  • Student Membership (17-25) – £195 - 7-Day membership
  • Junior Membership (<17) – £95 7-Day membership
  • Junior Membership (<15) - £55 7-Day membership

 

New Members wishing to join between the 1st February and the 1st April will receive free membership time once they have paid their full membership fee.

 

We are pleased to announce a new membership type for this coming season. A Dual Membership entitles its holder to all the benefits of both Racecourse and Golf Membership. Wincanton Racecourse standard membership includes access to 17 Racedays, a private members room, reciprocals to other racecourses across the country as well as members vouchers for racecards, guest badges, and discounts across the racecourse.

 

This upgrade is valid only for existing golf members who are renewing their membership. This offer is also to be purchased at the time of purchasing your Golf Membership for the additional fee of £100.

 

Wincanton Golf Course offers personal and group coaching to people of all abilities. Our resident PGA Professional Andrew England has over 40 years’ experience as a PGA Professional.

We are pleased to announce that Wincanton Golf Club will remain open for at least a further 12 months before we review its status once again.

This is a fresh start for the Golf Course, and it will now be managed entirely by the racecourse, therefore we would like to ask our members for patience and support as we transition into this new phase.
